Cost Accountant Job Opening in grand rapids, Michigan - Cost Accountant Undercar Products Group, INC. An award-winning, global company, recognized for innovative products and processes. We are a Canadian-based manufacturer of Automotive Plastic Processed products (Tier 1 supplier) working with the premier OEM's of the automotive industry. This is an administrative position involving the computer entry and maintenance of data relating to accounts payable and month-end processing. Duties include the planning and performing of various duties to collect and process data in an accurate and timely manner, within specifications of standard practice. Please send cover letter and resumes to Description Cost Accountant Background: The incumbnent should have strong familiarity with full absorption costing; labor variance analysis; production reporting; and inventory control as his/her responsibilities will involve all these aspects. This position is a multi-faceted position that will keep you challenged. The preferred candidate will not only need to know the cost accounting aspect of this position, but will also need to understand how production reporting and inventory control also intertwine within the manufacturing process. You will be reporting on all key aspects of the company which will help to keep the plant operating at peak performance. In addition, you will also be expected to report on improvement opportunities as well risks/costs associated out of conformance manufacturing processes. This opportunity provides the right candidate the opportunity to provide cost accounting analysis and input into the daily operation of a plant, while maintaining the integrity of the manufacturing cost structure. Job Duties: Maintain cost elements for manufacturing and purchase part cost structures Analysis manufacturing variances Provide support for material, labor and burden cost analysis Support for month-end financial and operational reviews Inventory analysis and audits (planning and coordination) Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and forecasting as it relates to costing. Review ERP set up Team member for cost reductions and process improvements. Requirements: Degree in Accounting 3-5 years experience in manufacturing environment with at least 2 years in costing. Very strong use of Excel knowledge required. Knowledge of full absorption standard cost systems (ERP). Knowledge of inventory control and production reporting processes.
