Consultant Job Opening in New York, New york - Responsibilities:
Interact with all levels of the client?s organization to achieve their tactical & strategic goals by leading cross-functional teams through improvement initiatives.
Knowledge and experience with operations excellence concepts and tools such as value stream mapping, business process re-design, six sigma, lean thinking, modeling and simulation, cycle time reduction, facility layout design, etc.
A thorough understanding of one or more of the following: lean manufacturing, MRP, advanced planning and scheduling, supply chain management, strategic sourcing, call center operations, financial services operations, sales force effectiveness, organizational design, ERP and MES packages, e-Procurement, SRM, CRM, etc.
Fluent in Excel and good knowledge of Access is a must. Familiarity with modeling and simulation software, statistical analysis software, is a plus
Excellent verbal (presentation) and written communication skills
Define the problem through consultations, meetings and case studies;
Review and analyze information through different reports and researches;
Interview or facilitate focused group discussions with management and employees;
Develop and present recommendations for the management;
Develop plans and programs for change implementation in the organization
Qualifications:
BS/MS degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Economics or equivalent
Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in a strategic and/or operations role
Excellent numerical and analytical skills
Pragmatic and entrepreneurial approach
Team building skills
Motivation and strong interest for consultancy
Flexibility and availability to travel extensively
Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
The following are desired but not required:
Bi-lingual
Experience in healthcare, life sciences and/or manufacturing industries a plus
Industry certifications such as a Six Sigma Blackbelt/Master Blackbelt, APICS, etc. are desired although not required
