The Liability Insurance Counselor is based at local hospital. They are responsible for interacting with patients and business office staff at the facility to help with the proper coordination of third party liability insurance benefits. They assist in managing the flow of information between central business office and Avectus Healthcare Solutions corporate office.
We are offering both full-time and part-time positions. The shifts will be between the hours of 10am-10pm and will include some weekends.
Liability Counselor Duties:
Responsible for contacting patients to gather insurance benefit information for accident claims from auto, home, other liability, and health policies and providing a positive experience for the patient following their hospital visit.
Explains the coordination of insurance benefits for patients in a way that the patient understands. Maintains proper account documentation in case management program and other computer systems. Responds to email and phone correspondence per department guidelines. Resolves any issues noted in the QA work reviews. Continues education and professional development by attending staff training.
Completes special reports as required, such as aged reports, checklist audits, denial reports, etc.
Liability Counselor Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is required
College degree or equivalent work experience preferred
Experience in healthcare or legal environment is helpful.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Must have demonstrated skills in Excel, Outlook and Word, along with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
