Accounting Manager Summary:
The Accounting Manage r provides financial and analytical support to the organization as well as leadership to the accounting department.
Accounting Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :
Manage daily accounts payable and accounting operations including general ledger maintenance and month-end/year-end closing processes
Ensure financial stability of Kelsan Distribution by providing accurate and timely financials and by closely monitoring accruals and ledger activity including quarterly balance sheet review and reconciliation
Prepare Kelsan Distribution and Kelsan, Inc. Financial Statements and analyses
Prepare all debt compliance testing and necessary reporting for Kelsan's bank
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial spreadsheets for upper management and board of directors
Participate in development and execution of appropriate actions and strategies in response to projected economic / operational trends to facilitate the achievement of established financial objectives
Manage annual and quarterly audits that are conducted by external financial auditors and bank auditors
Identify, document and implement, as necessary, all internal controls related to the financial reporting process
Assist in the preparation of the annual tax return and estimated tax payments
Ensure compliance with state tax and licensing boards by filing appropriate tax returns and correspondence
Complete annual surveys for industry-based standards
Analyze financial information to determine present and future financial performance
Evaluate complex profit plans, operating records and financial statements
Coordinate with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, trending future requirements and operating forecasts
Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures
Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
Direct supervision of staff accountant, credit manager and accounts payable supervisor.
Accounting Manager Education and/or Experience :
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field and two to five years related experience.
Accounting Manager Other Qualifications:
High Degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel and Access
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and standards
Must be detail oriented with a strong desire to improve company performance
Must be proactive and self-directed
Strong written and communication skills with the ability to interact with a variety of functional and business areas
