Systems Administrator for Growing Software Company Job Opening in austin, Texas - Systems Administrator for Growing Software Company Kinnser Software, the leading online healthcare technology firm which ranked number 215 on the Inc. 500 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America in 2010, is looking for a Systems Administrator to join our team. This individual will provide server and desktop technology support, including operating system and application maintenance, and will ensure that employees adhere to security guidelines, user access, and configuration policies. The Systems Administrator will report to the Director for Infrastructure and Security. Duties and Responsibilities: ? Supports both the physical and virtual infrastructure of the organization ? Recommends and implements LAN/WAN policies and standards; ensures adherence to security procedures ? Trains and supports end users in utilizing LAN/WAN and desktop client technology resources; surveys performance needs and goals of users ? Works with all departments within the organization to complete objectives related to corporate initiatives and technology implementation ? Assists with the tactical implementation of any technology project and provides ongoing technology support ? Installs Operating System releases and system upgrades for clients and servers ? Assists in developing and maintaining Headquarter Disaster Recovery Plan ? Evaluates and installs patches and resolves software-related problems ? Performs client and server evaluation and optimization on a regular basis ? Works with team to automate management tasks, streamline processes, and perform standard administration functions ? Assists in all administrative aspects of corporate desktop support and maintenance of corporate phone system ? Assists in documentation of the physical and logical network ? Maintains accurate inventory of corporate office including licensing compliance ? Must be available for the after-hour on-call rotation schedule ? Performs other duties as assigned Required Professional Experience: ? Three to five years of systems administration experience ? Strong background in planning, deploying, and maintaining Microsoft products, especially Windows client/server technologies and Active Directory ? Experience in hardware and software installation and troubleshooting ? Extensive knowledge of computer components, computer system , and software compatibility ? Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills ? Ability to lead and/or act as part of a team ? Dependable, reliable, courteous, and prompt with a strong work ethic ? Experience with installation, configuration and support of COTS applications (Antivirus, MS Office, Browsers, etc.) ? Strong background in TCP/IP networking ? Excellent and effective customer service, communication, and interaction skills Desired Additional Experience: ? Multi-platform experience with Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux ? Experience with VOIP technologies ? HIPAA and healthcare business practice knowledge ? IT security principles and best practices Education: MCSE/MCSA or bachelor?s degree from a four year college or university preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
