Accounting Specialist Job Opening in Largo, Florida - The Accounting Specialist will review and process vendor invoices and make payments in a timely manner via checks, wire transfers and ACH payments
Review and record payroll data, and expenses on a monthly basis
Prepare and maintain monthly spreadsheets and reports.
Provide customer service to vendors or customers related to their invoices
Prepare the payroll journal and ensure maintenance of required supporting documentation
Partner with Paychex Human Resources team to identify anomalies in benefit billing statements, employee payroll deductions and/or other benefit programs and rectify any discrepancies in a timely manner
Partner with the our accounting team and tax advisor to participate in financial and tax audits as needed
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED is required; Associates or Bachelors Degree in Accounting is strongly preferred, as well as any relevant certifications
3+ years? experience in general accounting support
1+ years? experience using accounting software is required; Work experience with QuickBooks.
Experience with accrual-based accounting practices is a plus
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, including formulas, formatting, linking cells/workbooks
Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal professional communication skills
Strong attention to detail and aptitude for numbers and data
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to maintain routine processes as well as develop new processes to improve overall functional efficiency to support organizational growth
Strong organization and process-development skills
Ability to work full-time, Monday-Friday
