The members have the same electronic health record platforms, and offer patients access to 41 hospitals and more than 7,000 providers.
JOB SUMMARY
The Director has primary responsibility for implementing the strategy and vision for the delivery of information and analytic platforms and solutions to key stakeholders. Serves as a liaison among the clinical and business stakeholders and the business intelligence team. Communicates the benefits of the business intelligence environment to executives and others. Serves as subject matter expert and experience with business intelligence technologies and their application to clinical and business problems. This position will ultimately be responsible for helping AboutHealth become a business that successfully differentiates and competes based on the advantages derived from information and analytics.
The Director also has responsibility for working with the Information Technology and Analytics Committee to assist in developing an agreed upon strategy allowing the members to reduce their costs in both Information Technology and Analytics. This role will assist in facilitating the development of a strategy and ensuring its successful execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in planning and lead the implementation of the overall analytics and business intelligence strategy.
Lead the design and development of analytical projects designed to understand key business and clinical questions.
Communicates effectively to executives to both understand analytic finding as well as the benefits of the business intelligence program.
Ability to work comfortably in a highly matrixed system; working effectively in complex committee structures, spanning CIO?s, clinician leaders and executive managers.
Translate clinical questions into data answers, can speak to both clinicians, executives and data analysts.
Deliver business analytics in convenient, easy to use ways that all customers, regardless of skill can access and utilize.
Discover new opportunities to optimize the business through analytics and statistical modeling.
Transform our analytics thinking from reactive to proactive and predictive.
Work with architects to create a high-level, enterprise architecture to support a growing portfolio of business intelligence applications.
Hire, oversee and develop business intelligence, and clinical/business analysis team members.
Interface with business sponsors and steering committees.
Meet business criteria for successful business intelligence implementations.
Partner with IT and business units in developing high performing project teams and highly available reporting platforms.
Develop and lead a data governance process to strategize and set parameters for data management and usage.
Establish, maintain and promote consistent methodology for analytics deployment.
Develop and chair a prioritization team that is responsible for ensuring resources are working on the most important projects that will assist in achieving our true north metrics and strategy.
Monitor the analytics marketplace of new trends, technologies and its potential to improve business operations. Works with key member CIO?s and their key leaders to plan and implement an IT strategy that will allow for sharing of systems and resources among the members.
Evaluate and engage vendors and consultants, with focused expertise, to augment our skills as needed.
Oversees the technological infrastructure for AboutHealth to ensure optimal performance.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
BS/BA in Computer Science, MIS, Business or other related field. A related master degree is a strong plus.
Proven track record in assisting in the development and implementation of a tactical vision in complex organizational structures.
Five or more years? experience working directly for healthcare delivery systems or health plan/insurers.
A minimum of seven years working with and developing teams that transform data into business results. Knowledge in technical aspects of business intelligence including data modeling, tools, relational database management systems, ETL, metadata/ data management and OLAP tools.
Proven track record of delivering successful projects that add significant value to the business.
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with a diverse group of people at all levels in both IT, business and clinical leadership.
Must have understanding and experience with building and deploying business intelligence and analytics applications.
Exceptional technology knowledge and experience in methodologies and practices, including data management, data integration and analytics system architecture.
