JOB SUMMARY**
The Sales Manager has overall responsibility for selling rooms from designated controlled market segments to meet or exceed budgeted financial targets.
JOB DUTIES
Conduct weekly phone sales calls to existing Corporate, Entertainment and Educational group accounts as well as uncover new business in all market segments.
Travel to conduct outside calls and promote the hotel, as required
Set up outside sales appointments, site inspections, blitz?s, entertainment of clients.
Generate leads through internet searches, telephone solicitations, mailings, referrals, networking, trade shows, professional and community organizations, sales, blitzes, etc.
Solicit new business from existing customer base through phone contact, trade shows and professional and community organizations.
Document all activities in Envision, Sales System Software.
Develop marketing strategies by analyzing historical, current and future hotel/market trends and create selling strategies to capture the maximum amount of revenue.
Assist in the development of the annual budget.
Participate in management meetings to discuss budget forecast and rate.
Partner with operations team to notify, coordinate customer specifications, effectively respond to customer issues and comments to ensure customer satisfaction.
Sign room block and Catering contracts up to specified company limit.
Responsible for negotiating contracts and the implementation and set ups as required
Maintain accurate sales records, data base and reports to provide history, ensure future and current quality of service and enhance future prospects, through Envision.
Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are completed and documented.
Participate in Hotel weekly staff meetings as required.
LLC environmental commitments by having the knowledge, skills and values to be a leader in the global goal of ?greening? the hospitality industry.
Watch for safety hazards and report them immediately to your Department Supervisor.
Respond timely to all incoming group leads from booking engines.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Previous hotel/Resort experience, minimum 2-3 years preferred.
College degree or High School Diploma with related experience preferred.
Must be able to read, write, an understand English.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including leading and participating in formal presentations.
Strong negotiation skills as well as the ability to cultivate leads, build relations, and close the deal.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
Strong computer skills. Microsoft Office, Envision, other programs as it pertains to this position.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Strong desire to deliver high quality of customer service.
Detail oriented and organized as it pertains to accuracy and efficiency.
Good personnel and management and organizational skills.
Ability to travel out of town.
