Staff Accountant Job Opening in Santa Monica, California - LGO Hospitality is looking for a full-time Staff Accountant to prepare and manage the accounting and store administration at our Santa Monica stores.
This person will work as part of the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong auditing background and be comfortable working in a busy environment consisting of regular interaction with restaurant staff and other occasional distractions. Strong communication skills essential in order to deliver precise information to both accounting and management teams.
Some weekends and/or nights may be required. Mandatory to work month end which falls on the 1st and 2nd day of every month. Salaried position DOE with benefits.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Produce up-to-the-minute information, using internal computer systems, to allow management to base decisions on actual and historical data.
Conduct Internal audits.
Prepare, analyze, and verify financial statements, and other records, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to assess financial condition and facilitate financial planning.
Report to management about asset utilization and audit results, and recommend changes in operations and financial activities.
Process new hire paperwork, employee pay adjustments, terminations, etc. into the payroll system. Follow up on missing items to ensure compliance.
Maintain employee files.

Strong bookkeeping / math aptitude
Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Deadline oriented with ability to multi-task
Self-starter with ability to solve problems
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or business Required
Restaurant accounting experience a plus
