We have an exciting opportunity available for a:
RESTAURANT SALES & EVENT PLANNER
The Sales & Event Planner is responsible for revenue generation in the restaurant's private dining room(s) through direct sales, direct mail, and other sales and marketing efforts. This position reports directly to the General Manager and indirectly to the Director of Sales.
Job Duties:
Qualify good business leads over the phone and handle calls in a timely manner
Ability to make private dining and catering arrangements with the client, including menus, pricing, wine selection, audio-visual requirements, and billing information
The ability to interpret and manage recipes to ensure compliance and minimize waste
Distribute information in a timely manner to the appropriate areas of the restaurant
Remain in contact with the client prior to event to get final guarantees and method of payment prior to the function
'The Pass Off' - Greet client/host at the time of their event and introduce them to the lead server and manager
Follow-up function: phone calls to client the next day and thank you letter sent
Track repeat business, as well as, creating an easy method to trace files to encourage repeat business
Identify key markets that will generate the core business of the private room(s) and develop a marketing plan to target these markets
Join at least one organization with networking opportunities to gain potential business for private dining
Anticipate busy and slow periods in private dining and create action plan to fill the slower periods
Develop a plan to successfully market private dining for holiday parties, maximizing both space and revenue
Develop relationships with key retailers to help promote (rehearsal dinners, engagement parties, company meetings and events)
Work closely with management team to develop special events that will help market private dining
Budget/Forecast for each period and be able to explain why private dining sales are up or down
