We are looking for an experienced, self-driven, accountable, highly motivated Hopportunist (aka craft beer sales rep/craft beer brand ambassador) for the Phoenix area.
As a Hopportunist you will help us grow our platform and the breweries that we have the pleasure of representing.
Our platform is changing the way craft beer is distributed and thus this role provides an amazing opportunity for career growth! Our Hopportunitst will play a major role in promoting our brand and products as we grow from local to national and international markets. You will represent the best breweries and sell the best beers with the best platform!
Our Territory Hopportunist will:
Create targeted prospect lists within territory and turn prospective accounts into active buying accounts through organization, consistency and scheduled follow-ups
Strengthen and maintain relationships with current retailers and the breweries we represent
Promote and sell draft and bottled beer from assigned craft brands, increasing points of distribution and volume within assigned territory
Follow through on new retailer inquiries as well as process new, existing and recurring beer orders
Improve the visibility of our "book" of craft beers through avenues such but not limited to: generating excitement about core and special release craft beer offerings, education of retailers and improved shelf placements
Uphold The Beer Connect philosophy, guidelines, policies, and safety procedures in assigned territories
Assist in planning and coordinating new brand and new product launches, promotions and events to ensure achievement of sales goals
Update and maintain calendar of events and festivals in assigned territory and share with leadership team
Assist in creating and presenting sales reviews to the breweries we represent
Prepare weekly and monthly reports summarizing sales, prospect activation, market trends, competitors, general activity and completion of sales goals within assigned area for presentation to management team
Remain educated on current legislation and trends within the industry
Research and participate in continuous education related to the role, such as customer service, sales techniques and new product offerings
Assist in resolving brewery and retailer issues and ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining the integrity of The Beer Connect
Represent company by attending and/or pouring at special events such as beer dinners and beer festivals
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience: A Certificate and/or Diploma from a Business School, or equivalent combination of education and experience; a minimum of 2 years of experience working in an influential sales role, preferably within the craft beer, hospitality or beverage industry
BJCP and/or Cicerone Server certification (or agreement to enroll in a program)
At least 21 years of age
Strong interpersonal skills with a successful proven track record of developing strong relationships and meeting/exceeding sales goals
Solid knowledge of beer styles and passion for craft beer and the craft beer industry
Demonstrated approachability, composure, and strong customer service orientation
Experience or education in is preferred
Solutions-oriented, self-motivated and results driven
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Computer skills with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong planning and decision-making skills
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate with staff, customers, and vendors with ability to tailor approach to your audience
Ability to work independently and with a team to accomplish goals
Well organized with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
Ability to lift 55 lbs regularly and stand for long periods of time
Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for special work-related events such as beer dinners, tap takeovers, etc.
Ability to travel in assigned territory and up to 25% of the time outside territory
Compensation:
We offer a competitive package: a base salary plus sales commission.
