The NutriQuest® Business Solutions (NQBS) team is comprised of leading financial and business experts that provide CFO level experience in the livestock, row-crop and financial industries. Our team focuses on the specific needs of a business to offer expertise in consulting with livestock and row-crop producers in the areas of financial and accounting management, strategic planning/financial projections, financial restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, financial planning, management information systems, risk management and benchmarking.
Job Summary
The Consulting Chief Financial Officer is a key member of the leadership team for the NQBS client base. Applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and forecasts by compiling information and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures to provide a ?surrogate CFO? service. Responsible for working with general managers/staff members for various clients to create and assist with managing both short term and long term budgets and forecasts, as well as working with various lenders, tax preparers and attorneys to provide any financial information that is requested. Supervise the accounting staff of clients simultaneously and remotely including overseeing the daily, monthly and quarterly reporting. Travel required based upon client requests and needs.
Essential Functions
Participate in and/or lead meetings, strategic planning and projects as assigned and on behalf of the client(s)
Ensure financial systems and supporting information systems are in place for each client?s accounting department to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audit and annual budgets
Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analysis to provide insight into the organization?s operations and business plan. Analyze financial information and prepare forecasts to predict the best way to ensure the company?s success in the future.
Present and report relevant, accurate and timely historical operating and financial information of the organization for presentation of production-driven analysis to key decision makers and stakeholders.
Month end processing of financial information including graphs and production driven analysis. Additional Accounting duties as needed, including:
Journal entries, account reconciliation, cash management, financial analysis, cash forecasting, intercompany accounting, and data management
Accounting activities in the areas of general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets
Intercompany accounts receivable and accounts payable activity including reconciliation, confirmation, accruals, issue resolution and accurate reporting
Assist in procedure development and recommend/implement process improvements
Deliver exemplary customer service - provide timely and thoughtful responses to internal and external inquiries
Calculate and review variances from the budget and forecast and report significant issues to management
Liaison with other professionals/key stakeholders of client(s) to ensure compliance with income tax, audit and bank compliance
Effectively collaborate and delegate with others on the NutriQuest Business Solutions Team
Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports
Job Qualifications
Experience Level: minimum of 10+ years? senior financial management experience
Education/Degree Requirements ? Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting; CPA or MBA preferred
Agriculture background required
Strong knowledge of accounting standards and practices (US and International)
Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Experience with Accounting Software such as Sage/MAS200, Great Plains, Quickbooks and/or Peachtree
Strong knowledge of accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cost control principles including generally accepted accounting principles
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
