Network Engineer Job Opening in Dallas, Texas - Network Engineer the ip engineering position will perform all activities associated with the creation, maintenance and support of all network elements. duties include high level routing, switching and mpls network engineering, configuration and support. we will offer on the job training for the ideal candidates. essential functions and requirements: 1. required to create, manage and monitor major projects. 2. perform network analysis and design for all network infrastructures. 3. evaluate and test new technologies in order to provide recommendations to management. 4. coordinate with engineering staff for the establishment and testing of new circuit connections. 5. provide primary network design for logix disaster recovery. 6. responsible for all future networking technologies within logix. 7. provides oversight on the process workflows for netgroup ticket activities and implementation of new technologies, as applicable. 8. provide higher-level management for circuit provisioning staff and processes. 9. advanced working knowledge of windows operating systems. 10. proficient with microsoft office applications such as outlook, word, excel, powerpoint and visio. 11. advanced working knowledge of ciena, adtran, brocade, alu/nokia and cisco routers. 12. advanced working knowledge of routing protocols (ospf,isis and bgp). 13. advanced working knowledge of mpls l2/l3. 14. good understanding of mef 2.0/3.0 standards. 15. advanced working knowledge of stp, rstp, 8032 erp. 16. base working knowledge of sip and all network elements associated with sip (session border controllers, registry servers, application servers and softswitch technology). 17. advanced working knowledge of wireshark 18. advanced local area network knowledge. 19. advanced wide area network knowledge. 20. good working knowledge of ethernet based fiber optic networks as well as sonet and dwdm. 21. provide support to tier 2 and tier 3 support/noc staff. 22. ability to manage lab testing projects and document accordingly. 23. ability to create, review and implement change management procedures as needed. to be considered for this position please send an updated resume to knowledge skills and abilities: 2. demonstrate creative and organizational skills in order to work through projects producing accurate and effective end results. 3. ability to collect data, establish facts, define problem(s), and evaluate seriousness of problem(s). 4. maintain positive attitude towards customers, co-workers and management. 5. maintain honesty and integrity in all circumstances. 6. effective time management. 7. detail oriented and effective oral and written communication skills. 8. ability to operate a motor vehicle. must have valid motor vehicle operator?s license and a responsible driving record. educational requirements: recommended to have a college degree or 5+ years? experience in major area. display an advanced knowledge in network design and or architecture. candidate should have at least two of the following or equivalent work experience of 5+ years in network engineering, management and development: 1. brocade certified network engineer (bcne) 2. cisco certified network administrator (ccna) 2. nokia network routing specialist i (nrsi) certified 3. nokia network routing specialist ii (nrsii) certified 4. cisco certified network detail oriented (ccnp) 5. nokia service routing architect (sra) certified
