Sales Representative Job Opening in Fullerton, California - The Sales Representative will be responsible for soliciting new accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication; preparing correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance; participating in daily business review meeting, pre-convention meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as required; work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers; attending trade shows, community events and industry meetings; knowledge of market trends, competition and customers. Strong prospecting and closing skills as well as prior experience in booking corporate or association/smerf group business are essential. Knowledge of Opera, Salesforce and proficiency in Excel is a plus. Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers, industry organizations to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, trade shows, etc (locally). Penetrates assigned accounts for business travel, leisure travel and/or extended stay business. Maintains current business relationships and networks for new business. Understands the overall market - competitor's strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them. Develops and implements sales strategy to achieve hotel and individual revenue goals Closes the best opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and hotel needs Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts. Develops contracts and correspondence, manages opportunity details and proactively develops customer solutions. Works independently and with Revenue Management to establish appropriate business transient pricing for assigned accounts. Proactively manages relationships with accounts that have multiple contacts and/or travel agencies. Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies customer service and creates a positive example for guest relations. Works with appropriate resources on account productivity, opportunities and strategic direction. Maintains accurate and up to date account data and reporting using account management system. *This entry level sales associate position will be responsible for soliciting business from different industries to ensure the necessary advance bookings needed for a successful and profitable operation for the hotel. *Actively participate in industry related organizations. *Consistently making cold calls. *Aggressively pursue new accounts on a weekly basis. *Maximize yield. *Make onsite and field presentations to clients *Conduct site tours of the hotel while actively selling the benefits to staying at the hotel vs. the competition within the market. *Participate in local community to develop business. *Attend trade shows and participate in sales blitzes (all local) *Maintain and use trace system. *Develops data and recommends programs to meet clients' needs. *Reviews individual goals on a quarterly basis; recommends and takes appropriate actions to achieve objectives in key result areas. *Prepares proposals that are geared to maximize profit while satisfying client needs. *Solicits files on a timely basis to confirm business. *Assists in the completion of monthly booking reports. *Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest services. *Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems.
