Patient Access Representative/ Receptionist Job Opening in Portland, Oregon - Shriners Hospitals for Children ? Portland is seeking a Patient Access Representative to specialize in the registration process. This position is full-time (1.0 FTE).
Responsibilities:
of patients for hospital and clinic appointments.
Accurately maintain patient data, insurance information, and other pertinent information.
Obtain necessary authorization forms and accurately document information in computer.
Perform insurance verification functions, for both commercial and multi-state Medicaid plans.
Assist in the management of work lists related to referrals, denials, and authorization requirements.
Assist with financial counseling functions for Uninsured patients.
Support new patient intake and patient scheduling functions as needed.
Requirements:
2 years experience in Registration at hospital or multi-disciplinary clinical setting.
Minimum 1 year experience conducting insurance verification for both commercial and Medicaid plans.
Proven accuracy, attention to detail, and computer proficiency using MS Office and medical office software programs, such as Cerner, Epic, etc.
HIPAA knowledge and proven compliance.
Superior customer service skills and ability to handle multiple priorities in a busy office setting.
Ability to work well in team environment.
Accurate keyboarding, filing, multi-line phones, and general clerical skills.
Spanish language proficiency preferred.
AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers is required.
