Accounting Associate Job Opening in Indianapolis, Indiana - We are searching for an enthusiastic, well organized, and detail oriented Accounting & Administrative Associate to join our growing team. This role will encompass handling the day-to-day accounting transactions and various other administrative duties to support the company. The ideal candidate will be an energetic and positive professional with experience in QuickBooks.
Accounting Associate Responsibilities
Improve and support organizational policies, procedures and systems for the administrative function, including data entry, payroll, accounts payable, job costing related transactions, and month end close
Efficiently and accurately process data in the accounting system in a timely manner, including bank transactions, vendor invoices, purchase receipts, journal entries, etc.
Play a key role in the month end close process, including bank and other account reconciliations, fixed asset roll forwards, loan amortization schedules, intercompany transactions, etc.
Ensure that filing systems are complete, secured, and accurately maintained (electronic and hard copy as appropriate).
Support the management of vendor relationships, payments, and related issues and inquiries
Perform a wide range of support activities to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization
Occasionally answer, screen and transfer inbound phone calls
Receive and direct visitors and clients
Handle requests for information and data
Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence
Record, compile, transcribe and distribute minutes of meetings
Coordinate and maintain expense records for company Associates

Education and Experience
Minimum Associates Degree with experience in administrative and supervisory activities.
Proficiency with QuickBooks (desktop premiere version)
Solid working knowledge of general accounting principles and financial statement presentation
Computer skills and knowledge of relevant software and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel.
Knowledge of accounting, administrative and data management procedures and practices.
Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record keeping
Knowledge of principles and practices of basic office management
Ability to manage daily responsibilities as well as multiple projects with minimal supervision
