Licensee Specialist Job Opening in Denver, Colorado - The Licensee Specialist is the front-line contact for assigned customer accounts. This includes email correspondence, written in a clear and professional manner, as well as telephone correspondence. MPEG LA expects Specialists to deliver the highest level of customer service possible to each assigned account.
Specialists are responsible for processing and analyzing for completeness incoming royalty reporting. A successful Specialist will be able to understand the intricacies of each legal contract, known as the ?Patent Portfolio License? while also having in-depth knowledge of MPEG LA?s internal controls and policies. A working knowledge of consumer electronics is helpful.
In addition to the processing and validation of customer royalty reporting, Specialists will create invoices and request payment for all amounts reported. Specialists will be trained and are expected to be aware of international tax treaties as it relates to their customer invoices. Specialists will also be responsible for following-up for any payments, reports, or other items that are not received in a timely manner from customers. Specialists will participate in clean-up projects to ensure systems are accurate and up-to-date, and other special projects as required.

Understand and apply a high level of internal controls, and produce work that is peer-reviewed and accurate.
Demonstrate sound judgement and decision making.
Qualifications:
Typically, 1-3 years? relevant experience.
Written and verbal communication skills, as evidenced by a bachelor?s degree with a focus in business, finance, accounting, or economics.
Intermediate knowledge and skills with business applications such as Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both with external customers and internal colleagues.
