Senior Cost Accountant Job Opening in Gallatin, Tennessee - The Senior Accountant directs activities of product costing, product manufacturing analysis, and inventory valuation. The position provides recommendations to senior plant management in support of the achievement of company goals.

Perform month end close activities including but not limited to: preparation of actual vs. plan analysis related to manufacturing costs, inventory and expense information as needed for decision making support; and, analysis of cost information for use in controlling expenditures.

Develop, review and provide product costing information to management through: maintenance of the FG, component and raw material tables, and changing BOM?s; estimates of new or proposed product/service costs; and recommendations of cost efficiencies for new products. Develop and maintain standard costs of finished goods and production components. Develop and provide management reports comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of goods/services.

Lead physical inventory two (2) times per year. Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation. Lead and manage the monthly excess and obsolete inventory review process. Ensure validity and accuracy of systems through analysis, internal audit and coordination with inventory control, production and work order processing. Approve inventory changes as needed.

Develop/document policies and procedures. Represent Finance on teams designed to improve operations and reduce costs. Education & Certification Requirements
