Senior Accountant Job Opening in Knoxville, Tennessee - Senior Accountant
This position is responsible for executing accounting processes, as assigned, to ensure our financial statements are accurate, and, financial results are communicated timely to enable effective decision making by our Management Team. In addition to accounting responsibilities, this position will periodically have other duties and responsibilities assigned, to ensure a balanced workload by all of our Accounting Staff.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
(Cross-Train) Review daily cash receipts and post receipts to the ledger.
(Cross-Train) Print and review account agings weekly, and call on past due accounts.
(Cross-Train) Prepare weekly AR Receivable Aging Report and review with Corp. Controller, keeping apprised of problem areas.
(Cross-Train) Review requests for credits to customer accounts for proper approvals and documentation, process, and distribute accordingly.
(Cross-Train) Review daily invoice transactions for both the TN and SC plants.
Ensure that all cash expenditures have proper supporting documentation and approvals.
Enter accounts payable vouchers for non-material vendors.
Prepare check runs for the 15th and 30th AP vendor payment processing each month.
Responsible for the monthly Overrun Inventory to be taken on the 15th every month.
Assist Corp. Controller with month end inventory of Raw Materials, WIP, and Finished Goods.
Assist the Corp. Controller with month-end close, prepare and post GL entries as assigned.
Update payroll data from time clock reports and record payroll entries throughout the month.
(Cross-Train) Record bank transfers to the ledger as they occur throughout the month.
(Cross-Train) Reconcile bank accounts.
Prepare balance sheet account roll forwards.
(Cross-Train) Upload bank deposits daily.
Relieve receptionist on switchboard for lunch break and as necessary.
(Cross-Train) Process Customer Credit Card Payments
Record fixed asset transactions, ensure timely capitalization; reconcile sub-ledger to G/L and timely resolve significant differences.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor?s degree in accounting or equivalent.
Prior experiences in office environment preferably in accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets, general ledger and accounts receivable areas.
Strong attention to detail and compliance with accounting procedures.
Good communication skills.
