Sales Manager Job Opening in Hattiesburg, Mississippi - JOB TITLE: Sales Manager
REPORTS TO: General Manager
BASIC PURPOSE: Book groups and events
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Answer incoming telephone calls completing a lead form for all inquiries and assist guest with questions, changes and special requests. Ensure no leads are abandoned and all calls are returned within four hours and requests are communicated to appropriate departments.
2. Daily pull of trace cards and files.
3. Type thank you letters and comment cards.
4. Prepare all outgoing correspondence for mailing and file copies. Mail catering and wedding brochures as requested.
5. Maintain catering filing system according to SUN and IHG SOP's. File contracts and correspondence daily.
6. Perform all other requested duties and functions by General Manager
7. Make sales calls and follow new leads
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Attend sales meetings and take minutes.
Take reservations for special events.
Maintain committees or leadership of hotel based groups
Be the hotel representative for community events
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Experience: Previous sales experience or hotel experience preferred.
Hours Required: 40 hours over a 5 day period; typically Monday through Friday; days and times may vary based on need. Holidays and Weekends may be required.
