Director of Patient Financial Services Job Opening in Estes Park, Colorado - Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
Competencies College Business Degree, or equivalent college and/or business experience. Three or more years in management.
Duties Management of the hospital and affiliates revenue cycle, including charge master, capturing of charges, and billing cycle. Working knowledge of regulations governing healthcare charging; work with departmental managers in reference to Charge Master Maintenance including addition and revision of CPT codes; revenue codes; identification and making those changes within the Charge Master as needed. Develops strategies and implements plans to ensure operational performance is within the stated objectives. Monthly and annual reporting as assigned for hospital, physician?s clinic, and long term care departments. Annual audit duties as assigned.
Maintain a working knowledge with an accurate and timely system for insurance verification, Medicare, Medicaid, CICP, HMO contracts, third party payers, billing and reimbursement issues. These include, but may not be limited to, overseeing processes, proper admissions procedures and efficient technique.
Ability to show a working knowledge of the computer software in reference to all admitting,discharge, transfer functions, as well as all billing, payments, credit and collection functions. Troubleshoot problems as well as instruct all staff as to the proper use of that software. Assist in each position in the event of an emergency.
Management duties include daily staff supervision, employee evaluations, staff scheduling and conducting staff meetings. Strong positive leadership with good mentoring skills.
Financial department budgeting, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures.
Assist the CFO in implementing and maintaining contracts with third payers and as needed.
