Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant role requires someone who is extremely detail oriented and able to work independently. This position will be involved in a full array of business experiences within an industry leading company including monthly financial reporting, day-to-day transactional processing, financial statement audit preparation as well as budget and forecasting duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Document monthly financial transactions in the General Ledger system
Assist the Corporate and Assistant Controllers with monthly close reconciliations and reporting
Fulfill external auditor requests during the annual financial statement audit
Manage tax recording and reporting processes for sales, income, and personal property taxes
Perform recording and reconciliation of revenue transactions
Perform treasury management functions
Assist accounting team in preparation of the company?s annual budget, ad-hoc analysis, and reporting
Performs other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience in for-profit accounting or finance
Two to five years of experience in a similar position
Ability to anticipate impacts of workload/issues to team deadlines and maintain a positive work attitude, including willingness to work additional hours during peak periods
Strong experience with GAAP and general ledger accounting
Advanced Excel skills, including functions such as lookups and pivot tables
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains
Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work efficiently and independently of supervision
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects
