Senior Accountant Job Opening in Saint Petersburg, Florida - Essential Responsibilities
Must have statutory and GAAP Accounting experience.
Prepare monthly journal entries to general ledger
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
Provide analysis of company financials, analysis of trends and explain fluctuations
Will be responsible for statutory company reporting and accuracy
Prepare quarterly and annual premium tax filings
Prepare quarterly and annual NAIC and state required filings as due
Assist with auditors on year-end audit and providing documentation as requested
Handle ad hoc reporting requests and special projects as requested
All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
CPA or CPA candidate preferable
BA/BS in Accounting or related field will be considered
Previous experience within P&C insurance accounting would be a plus
Previous STAT and GAAP financial reporting would be a plus
Strong Excel, Powerpoint and Access skills.
Strong computer skills working with multiple systems at a time.
Attention to detail and ability to work independently
Ability to take direction and prioritize workload accordingly.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
