As Compliance Consultant, your role is to ensure programs, workflows and deliverables conform with employee benefits state and federal regulatory requirements. Specific duties include: monitoring and communicating ongoing changes of employee benefits legislation, account management training, assisting in the sales and retention process, and providing technical compliance support. Successful individuals in this role demonstrate a broad knowledge of healthcare law including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, Internal Revenue Code, state and local regulations as well as possess skills specific to supporting employee benefits consultants.

Key Expectations:
Demonstrate a strong command of the healthcare delivery system
Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and stakeholders
Provide daily Client Services support to address general and complex compliance issues
Develop and monitor compliance-related workflow, process and deliverables
Monitor and identify legal developments affecting employee benefit plans, ensuring staff is educated and clients are informed in a timely manner
Research and evaluate articles, alerts and other materials for publication or distribution to internal and external clients
Develop and maintain compliance education tools for health and welfare compliance
Support EB compliance communication strategy: messaging, presentations and corporate website content
Prepare written materials for client reports, presentations and RFPs
Understand and communicate client responsibilities of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, IRC Code and other state and federal regulatory requirements
Participate in quarterly client meetings and prospect presentations
Facilitate on-going training and education regarding regulatory and compliance topics
Consult directly with Sales Executives and Client Service Teams to ensure EB clients are informed in all matters of compliance. Assist with presenting to clients about compliance issues with financial impact information and recommendations

Keep informed of industry updates and product development with commitment to improve knowledge and performance
Understand and quickly assess organizational workflow, process and responsibilities as they relate to compliance requirements and ongoing changes
Self-starter and works well in a collaborative environment
Strong problem-solving skills offering practical guidance to complex issues
Excellent verbal and written communication skills - must be able to explain complex technical issues clearly to clients and other team members
Detailed familiarity and understanding of healthcare laws, regulations and standards: ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA and Internal Revenue Code
Excellent research skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment to determine which changes in the regulatory landscape should be presented in trainings
Strong work ethic, timely follow-up, team oriented, proactive, detail oriented and dependable
Ability to work independently while keeping open communication within the team and respecting a team atmosphere
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

Experience and Education:
Four-year degree required
Legal experience preferred
8+ years employee benefits experience
Agents license required (within 90 from hire date)
