Staff Accountant Job Opening in Concord, California - A well-established real estate construction company conveniently located in the East Bay, has an open position for a Staff Accountant.
Summary Description:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for monthly processing and maintenance of general ledgers up to financial statement preparation.
Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to
Preparation of monthly or quarterly Financial Statements and supporting schedules and documents Maintain, verify and reconcile various detail ledger account balances
Review and process Accounts Payables & Receivables, deposits, accruals, prepaid, job cost and general ledger journal entries
Maintain Daily Cash and Cash Receipts spreadsheet
Reconcile Bank Statements monthly
Prepare other reporting and special projects as needed
Process and input accounts payable invoices occasionally and issue manual checks
Request for wire transfer funding to Finance Manager when needed and record cash receipt
Update Bank Balances spreadsheet
Prepare for and assist with annual year-end independent audit
Work with other accountants to record and reconcile intercompany transactions
Entry Requirements: B.A. in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics. Other 4-year degrees will be considered with adequate experience
Working knowledge of full general ledger accounting with 4 to 6 years Knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, etc.) Ability to work and think independently. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Residential construction experience beneficial.
