Account Manager: Inside and Outside Sales
Description
We are an electrical distribution company. That does not mean that we sell electricity, but does mean that we sell products that use electricity. We focus on the industrial electrical market in Northwest Arkansas. The industrial products can encompass everything from wire, to robotics, to parts and pieces it takes to run an industrial plant. We are the number one industrial electrical distribution company in our target market and part of a larger organization that encompasses around 600 locations nationwide. Purpose
Implement strategy for increasing sales and profits from key accounts to meet or exceed sales objectives; identify opportunities to improve productivity and lower costs. Work with other locations to satisfy customer needs, including identifying opportunities for product standardization, cost savings, and process improvement.
Responsibilities
Solicit new business, monitor all agreement obligations, give presentations on new products and services, and communicate same with assigned locations and accounts. Recommend changes to processes to improve cost position and profitability.
Serve as field management contact at assigned location accounts; present customer needs and concerns to appropriate employees; assist management in establishing sales and gross profit budget for assigned location(s); assist Financial Department in resolving claims and other issues.
Organize call schedule to maximize sales and reduce expenses.
Attain or exceed sales and profit budget; answer questions regarding Company products and service capabilities, pricing, status of shipments, billings, etc. Relay service needs and follow up on customer requests; authorize return goods; recommend standardization of products to drive down costs.
Minimum Job Requirements
Minimum of 1 year of experience required: One or more years' progressively more responsible sales, marketing, and/or operating experience High school diploma or GED required
Qualified applicants must be customer oriented and motivated with excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Job Requirements
2-3 years of experience preferred: Previous Account Representative experience preferred
Four-year degree preferred: Business degree or related major
Knowledge of the electrical distribution industry
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent negotiation skills, interpersonal skills and ability to drive decisions with influence.
Experience with construction sales in the industrial electrical market desired.
Equivalent experience in the industry with a strong sales background will be given serious consideration.
Ability to make oral and written presentations to internal and external contacts
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers through multiple means such as phone, email, and live discussions
Ability to work unsupervised while still performing necessary tasks
Ability to collaborate with co-workers and manufacturer representatives to identify appropriate customer strategies
Ability to respond professionally to customer requests.
