With a 35-year track record of successful investing, the firm focuses on value-add and opportunistic multifamily investments in Texas, Florida and South Carolina - markets it knows well due to its long history and current operations in those locations. . This position is based in our Miami office. Controller will report to corporate CFO.
Controller Position
The Controller will be an integral member of the Lloyd Jones Capital team, responsible for all accounting activities, tax preparation, and investor for both the company and its investment assets.
Primary Responsibilities
Create and deliver financial reports including internal and external monthly financial statements for various funds and partnerships
Oversee preparation of all tax returns to take advantage of all favorable tax codes.
Prepare for and respond to corporate and partnership audits
Calculate and advise on investor distributions per partnership agreements
Understand property business plans, partnership agreements and regulatory agreements
Review budgets, financial statements to ensure adherence to business plans
Assist in cash management activities and the preparation of cash flow projections
Participate in investor and lender conference calls
Qualifications
Bachelor?s degree from top academic institution in accounting; master?s degree preferred.
CPA required
Accounting experience in real estate investment, construction, or development required.
5+ years of relevant experience at senior level
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment and/or independently
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Excel
Compensation and Benefits
The Controller will be compensated with a base salary and also participate in a discretionary bonus pool, the rewards of which are contingent on individual and firm-wide performance.
