Duties:
The Systems Engineer performs technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation of requirements and technical designs, cost and risk analysis, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
The Systems Engineer analyzes the defines user requirements, procedures, and problems.
The Systems Engineer designs systems solutions and specifications that incorporate software, data, network, and hardware requirements.
The Systems Engineer develops solutions for the full system life cycle from concept tot disposal.
The Systems Engineer ensures system designs are compatible with the architecture.
The Systems Engineer identifies and evaluates the relevancy of Commercial Off-the-Shelf and Government Off-the-Shelf to satisfy user, mission, and system needs.
The Systems Engineer manages user and mission requirements ensuring accurate documentation, thorough evaluation, and complete traceability from inception through closure.
Tasks:
Ensure the logical and systematic conversation of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that incorporates technical, schedule, and const constraints.
Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
provide staff and users with assistance solving computer related problems.
Confer with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs a computer program is to address.
Coordinate and link the computer system within and organization to ensure compatibility.
Consult with management to ensure agreement on system requirements.
Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve workflow.
Analyze and study complex system requirements.
Plan, analyze, and design information systems to solve mission needs and requirements.
Perform life cycle systems planning, business information planning, business and analysis.
provide technical guidance in software engineering techniques and automated support tools.
Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities.
Apply business process improvement practices to re-engineer methodologies and principles and business process modernization projects.
Apply, as appropriate, activity and data modeling, transaction flow analysis, internal control and risk analysis and business methods and performance measurement techniques.
Assist in establishing standards for information systems procedures.
Develop and apply organization-wide information models for use in designing and building integrated, shared software and database management systems.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred
15+ years of experience in a related field
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
