General Accountant Job Opening in New Boston, Michigan - We have an exciting opportunity for a General Acocuntant to join our finance team at our Tech Center headquarters in New Boston, MI.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The General Accountant records transactions and maintains general ledgers, analyzes accounts. The main responsibility is to close the financial records each month, providing analysis through reports and work papers to support the financial statements. Maintains detailed records to support the annual audit, tax returns and other governmental reporting. Supervises support staff.
JOB /TASK FUNCTIONS:
Records and reviews transactions recorded in the general ledger
Maintains account analysis to support financial statements
Produces reports and work papers to support management
Creates and follows a closing schedule to track progress and complete the monthly closing schedule on time
Completes documentation for tax returns as required
Complies with internal and external reporting requirement reporting as required
Posts and records payroll and related transactions
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
3 plus years of General Accounting experience
Some manufacturing knowledge needed
Balance sheet expertise
Experience in dealing with multiple entities and multiple tax IDs
QAD experience a plus
Masters degree preferred but not necessary
Strong analytical understanding of accounting principles
Consolidation experience
Some Supervision skills
