Direct Support Professional Job Opening in Wilmington, Delaware - Responsibilities
Assisting individuals in acquiring, maintaining and improving self-help, domestic, socialization and adaptive skills.
Supporting individuals learn, maintain or improve skills through their participation in a variety of activities of everyday life.
Engage in activities with the individuals to allow them to live in the community, to live more independently, or to be more productive and participatory in community life.
Submit accurate, completed progress notes weekly for every session worked with individual.
Complete necessary training based on the Person Centered Plan of each individual.
Position Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
Valid driver's license with 1 year of driving experience without a violation/ticket
Criminal history check
Care-giving experience and experience with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred, but not required
Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company
Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time
