The Accounting Director effectively supervises agency financial, legal, personnel, and internal administrative matters. The Accounting Director is a key member of executive management who participates in agency planning and strategic discussions and provides advice to management on all financial decisions.
Responsible for the company?s financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, and various special analyses.
Essential Functions
Records all transactions and prepares all financial reports in a timely manner.
Prepares required sales tax returns.
Manages monthly closings. Controls the flow of data into the general ledger.
Prepares monthly company balance sheets and profit/loss statements and client profit and loss statements together with analytical review commentary.
Maintains adequate controls of receipts and disbursements.
Ensures that the agency?s cash flow is adequate to meet its commitments.
Prepares special reports and performs studies as directed by the CEO.
Protects corporate assets through sound accounting policies and procedures, including:
Provision for insurance coverage, as required; and
Protection of business assets and loss prevention through internal control and internal auditing.
Obtains monthly projection of revenue, prepares annual and monthly expense and cashflow forecasts upon which management decisions can be based, such as:
Accuracy of year-end forecast; and
Appropriate budgets and budget directives.
Manages client billing and processes accounts receivable and cash receipts.
Understands the importance of real-time information.
Processes accounts payable.
Works with third-party vendor for processing payroll.
Superior communication skills especially as it is the advertising industry.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or 3-5 years working in a related field
Client Profit & Loss and Employee Productivity & Recoverability analytical experience.
Job estimating and costing experience
Advanced spreadsheet skills
Strong technology skills
High level of accountability, discretion, confidentiality and integrity
Ability to think creatively, make decisions, and provide alternative solutions to solve problems
Working knowledge of the industry Project Management & Accounting package Workamajig would be helpful
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $50,000.00 to $75,000.00 /year
