Senior Programmer Analyst Job Opening in Johnson City, Tennessee - The Sr. Programmer/Analyst?s role is to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient business, financial, and operations systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. The incumbent is also responsible for generating and compiling reports based on the findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Collaborate with Manufacturing System Analysts, Local Site Analysts, and end-user customers in the conceptualization and development of new software programs and applications
Support the definition, development, and deployment of software?s business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments
Research, identify, analyze, and fulfill requirements of all internal and external program users
Participate in design sessions in prototyping new systems to enhance business processes, operations, and information process flow
Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications per specifications
Develop and maintain user manuals and guidelines
Coordinate and install solutions in development, test, and production environments
Train end users to operate new or modified programs
Ensure all SOX related policies and being enforced with respect to change management
Monitor, support, and improve regular operations of assigned systems
Develop programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary
Design, run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging
Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas
Liaise with Site Analysts and Manufacturing System Analysts to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems
Manage and configure company databases, data marts, and data warehouse
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required:
BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related business field
The ability to work with the business teams to understand problems and translate these requirements into functional solutions producing specifications that include, process flows, data flows, UI designs, business rule definitions and use case scenarios
Minimum of seven years? IT experience designing and supporting software solutions
Must be able and willing to travel occasionally, as necessary
Skills/Competencies:
Technical proficiency in appropriate programming languages (based on the assigned systems)
Must be familiar with software development life cycle (SDLC) concepts
Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans
Interpersonal skills to develop and manage relationships with internal customers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Works effectively with peers and customers across multiple disciplines, locations, and levels
Detailed-oriented and able to multi-tasking strength
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
