The engineering manager is responsible for estimating, planning, and managing assigned projects to meet or exceed customer requirements. The selected candidate will manage an engineering team which will typically be performing software lifecycle activities on avionic systems. The selected candidate will also work in collaboration with other Engineering Managers to support engineers? career growth.

Primary Responsibilities:
Foster team culture and maintain a high performing team
Promote a culture of trust, transparency, accountability, and adaptation
Execute projects leveraging AVISTA?s Quality Management System (QMS) to meet schedule, cost, and quality objectives
Support organizational improvements
Backlog prioritization for team
Advocacy and management for reports
Travel as needed, including proactive visits to facilitate periodic face-to-face meetings with customers (an estimated 20-30%)
Experience should include:
Successful project management experience
Proven ability to direct customer support and assistance activities for assigned engineers
Ability to work effectively in a creative, team-oriented environment
An enthusiastic, career-minded attitude with a desire to continually improve performance
Effective time management skills, with strong organization and prioritization abilities
Other preferred experience includes:
Experience with the development and formal verification of avionics software systems
Experience with embedded real-time software development and verification
Possess an awareness of export control regulations
Experience with agile project management
Education & Minimum Experience:
Bachelors of Science or Bachelors of Arts degree in a related field (i.e., Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Business, etc.) and has a minimum of 2 years of full-time applicable work experience
