DCI Resources (The Learning Academy), a high-tech IT firm, is a TechHire Grant training provider. The U.S. Department of Labor's TechHire Grant is an initiative to bring accelerated IT training and workforce development to Connecticut to train young adults in the tech skills needed to enter into the IT workforce.
The IT Instructor provides instruction and support to students to develop the necessary computer skills needed for employment, and achieve the following certifications:
Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA): Software Development, Database Administration, Cyber Security, Networking, Operating Systems, Server Administration, HTML5 Application Development, Cloud Computing
Cisco: CCENT, CCNA
CompTIA: A+, Network+, Security+
Internet and Computer Core Certification (IC3): Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications, Living Online
Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS): Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Excel Expert
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor?s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field preferred.
JOB DESCRIPTION / SPECIFIC DUTIES
Follow all DCI policies and safety procedures.
Prepare students to site for and pass MTA, Cisco, CompTIA, IC3, and MOS certification exams.
Provide instruction in various aspects of today?s Information Technology environment.
Work with students to discover career path options and write an effective resume.
Act as a positive role model for employees, trainees, and customers in all aspects of professional performance.
Maintains a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy, and a professional work environment.
Attends meetings, training sessions and committee/team activities.
Presenting lectures on specific topic.
Creating assignments and hands-on lab.
Instructing students on how to use different software tools and applications, and even build their own apps.
Assisting students who have fallen behind in coursework.

Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
Technical computer skills that are being taught and the ability to teach others.

Stay current in subject matter through professional development, involvement in professional organizations, and attending professional meetings, conferences, or workshops.
Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to unexpected deadlines, prioritize and multitask in a deadline driven environment.
