Chief Operations Officer (COO) Job Opening in Oxford, Mississippi - Posit ion Overview:
The Facility Chief Operating Officer is an integral part of the senior leadership team and expected to participate in the financial and functional decision making processes necessary for the successful attainment of the facility?s operational and financial goals.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs the operations of the Facility Business Office to ensure that the facility achieves its goals for cash collections, AR days, uncompensated care and denials
Routinely reviews revenue cycle metrics to proactively identify and address issues affecting overall performance
Is actively involved in ensuring revenue cycle processes are in place including proper determination of patient responsibility, approval of any discounts or charity care, coordination of benefits, employment verification, proper logging of upfront collections and utilization of financial products designed to support additional client financial obligations
Participates with managed care contracting and other business development activities to ensure net revenue goals are met
Provides guidance and assists the CEO in ensuring facility is staffed appropriately and that productivity goals are met
Partner with CEO to prepare annual budget and development of strategic operating business plan
Provides ongoing analysis of variances from budget and assists the CEO in implementing changes needed to achieve budget goals
Analyzes, recommends and supports practices seeking to improve performance on quality measures to engage in work redesign, changes in organization systems, policies and procedures, and quality improvement process within the organization
Ensures compliance to accreditation standards and requirements, federal, state, and local certifying and licensure bodies
Undertakes special projects as directed by the CEO
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in a business-related field
MBA or CPA highly preferred
Previous behavioral healthcare experience highly preferred
Previous experience with a healthcare system highly preferred
Minimum 3-5 years successful COO/CFO/Controller experience in a healthcare setting required
Proven financial analysis skills and ability to develop and interpret financial statements
Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated ability to effectively lead in a changing environment
Ability to think strategically and solve problems
