Accountant Job Opening in Centerville, Utah - Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is a privately-held company that successfully operates Job Corps, Corrections, Medical, and Economic & Social Development contracts. Responsible for performing a wide variety of technical and analytical accounting tasks and procedures. Essential Functions:
1. Assist in posting to computer system, review and correct errors for all locations.
2. Ensure timely completion of subsystem closing and trial balance preparation for all MTC locations.
3. Review and ensure all consolidated inter-divisional, cash receipts, and cash disbursement amounts balance, reconcile and resolve discrepancies on a monthly basis.
4. Assist with reviewing and approving interdivisional billings.
5. Review A/P account coding and assist A/P clerk when necessary.
6. Assist in the preparation and/or review of periodic reports, such as Financial Status Report and State Sales Tax Reports.
7. Monitor student/inmate payroll disbursements, receipts, and reconciliations.
8. Oversee and assist with facility account reconciliations on a monthly basis and appropriately resolve discrepancies.
9. Assist with facility visits and the training of finance staff.
10. Assist all facilities with questions and problems as they arise.
11. Assist with month-end/year-end closing and billing for all locations.
12. Oversee document scanning for completeness.
13. Provide positive, quality customer service to corporate and facility staff. 14. Assist in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures. 15. Maintain accountability of property; adheres to safety practices.
Education and Experience
Bachelor?s degree in accounting, finance or related field and one year related experience. Must be willing and able to travel. Unless waived by management, valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
