Internal Sales Engineer ? Aerospace Job Opening in Greenville, South carolina - The purpose of this position is to provide internal sales for key segments within the US aerospace business. This will include maintaining and developing key customer accounts across the aerospace industry, fielding incoming inquiries from new clients, and supporting scoping activities for our external aerospace sales team by acting as their conduit for discussions with technical people internally. The Aerospace sector is one of the fastest growing for Lucideon Group, so you will be joining an ambitious team with a solid foundation for growth. You will have a portfolio of analytical and materials science consultancy services to sell from across the Lucideon Group of Companies.
The successful candidate must be personable, good at listening, motivated by success, inquisitive and quick thinking ? allowing them to adopt a consultative selling process and build relationships with customers. They must understand the commercial drivers behind Lucideon?s business and that of its customers, and be prepared to work to targets and under pressure to deliver those targets. They must have the ability to engage easily and credibly with both scientists and engineers at all seniority levels in businesses. They must have credibility but are not expected (or wanted) to be experts.
Responsibilities:
Manage incoming inquiries from aerospace customers in the USA across all sectors, and either manage personally or pass onto external sales (as appropriate)
Support external sales in achieving technical scoping and sign off from internal technical colleagues, and by liaising with counterparts in UK
Execute sales plans to achieve order targets within Aerospace alongside business manager and external sales people, including upholding pricing strategies
Hold virtual meetings and discussions with new prospects and existing customers to identify and develop opportunities within Aerospace
Ascertain needs of our customers and connect those needs with technical solutions offered through Lucideon?s experts and capabilities, and work with technical staff to generate proposals.
Be confident discussing technical requirements and capabilities unsupported for the most part (technical expertise will be available via our experts when needed)
Follow a sales process and keep visible records of client interactions, needs, opportunities, quotations, etc. using Lucideon?s CRM system
Willingness to travel occasionally, with quarterly visits to our US and/or UK facilities
Qualifications:
Technical degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, material science or a related technical discipline
Minimum 2 years? experience in a environment, ideally in a commercial role
Experience in the aerospace industry, preferably in engine components
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
