Bursar/Accountant Job Opening in Metairie, Louisiana - KDHSA is a large A rated Pre-K through 10th grade Charter School (Pre-K through 12th in two years) with a student population of approximately 1200. The Bursar will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and adjusting the Activity Funds Procedures. The Bursar will be responsible for accounting and monitoring all activity funds and reporting regularly to the CFO and the activity moderators (teachers, coaches, volunteers, etc.). The Bursar will be the primary person responsible for collection and daily depositing of receipts. The Bursar will be required to train all persons involved in collection of funds in procedures as well as assisting the CFO in updating these procedures as required. Additional responsibilities will include collection of fees both current and delinquent. The Bursar will also be responsible for coordinating fees related to field trips. The Bursar will also be required to assist in the Business Office as needed when time permits.
Qualifications:
Required:
At least two years of cash collection and control experience
Accounting and internal control experience (preferably in a school environment)
Must pass a background check and be bondable
Preferred:
Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
2 or 4-year college degree - accounting courses a plus
