Staff Accounting Job Opening in New Orleans, Louisiana - Title: Staff Accounting with Experience
Landwerlin Trucking is growing and seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. You must have experience working in the trucking and transportation industry specifically and know how to handle and keep the books of a trucking company. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for billing clients, paying bills and making deposits, provide profit and loss statements, and other general bookkeeping tasks.
Staff Accountant Requirements:
- Must be well versed in Quickbooks
- Must have 3+ years accounting experience specifically in the trucking industry
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Full understanding of terms like per diem, detention, demurrage etc
- Understand how to bill chassis
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Able to read and understand financial reporting
Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Follow our company's established accounting protocol
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creations, bill payments and deposits
- Review monthly statements
- Provide profit and loss statements
- Perform workman comp. audits
