Data Scientist Job Opening in Cambridge, Massachusetts - We are seeking an individual with programmatic and data management skills, who would be motivated and excited to work on tools which improve data driven decision making. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology space and a passion for identifying and answering questions to advance our ability to serve patients.
Responsibilities:
Develop, enhance, and automate scientific data capturing, processing, data ingestion and analysis.
Create test end-to-end integration strategies with existing (and projected) scientific applications and services.
Migrate proof-of-concept projects into robust, fully developed, widely available solutions.
Perform testing on multiple applications and maintain unit tests.
Ensure accurate, complete and timely collection, delivery and tracking of analytical information from scientist, CRO or collaborators for curation, ingestion, analysis, reporting and presentation.
Assists in defining, delivering and implementing R/ED analytical data management systems, processes and procedures for collaborating and partnered laboratories.
Contribute to the development of a web based application from database/back-end to user friendly interface.
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in a relevant discipline with at least 2 years' experience in software development/data science or a Master?s degree in related discipline.
Proven skills in R programming and experience in additional computer languages such as Perl, Python, PHP, S-PLUS or Java (or C/C++/C#).
Proven skills in a relational database, preferably PostgreSQL or MySQL.
Working knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems is required.
Experience with web application development is required (R Shiny and JavaScript are desirable).
Familiarity with current software engineering methodologies, such as Agile, source control, unit testing, and issue tracking.
Must have creativity and show a strong ability to work with a team or independently.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication.
Experience in pharmaceutical industry and understanding of LIM systems is desirable.
Experience with Pipeline Pilot and Spotfire programs is desirable.
Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS), including command line interface (CLI) is desirable.
