Position: Java Developer
Location: Omaha, NE
Length: Long term contract
Pay: 50-56/hr.
Mutual of Omaha is seeking an energetic engaged IT professional to develop and maintain systems in the IS IFS Underwriting environment. Individual will be given the opportunity to learn state of the art technologies and systems and to be a catalyst for a high performing team.
Essential Job Functions:
Develops application and business integration solutions using a variety of programming languages, platforms and technologies to provide business solutions.
Responsible for the development, maintenance and integration of applications and systems that support business operations, as well as understanding the business, business objectives and current business challenges within the supported business area.
Develops, maintains and executes systems and designs, as well as develops, tests, and debugs applications and assisting with application issues.
Acts as an internal consultant and mentors junior staff, providing task-level leadership, guidance, and direction.
Responsible for complying with all Company Information Services policies and standards and ensuring appropriate security and privacy measures are implemented on technology solutions to protect Company data from intentional or accidental misuse.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field plus 5 years of experience or Master's degree with 3 years of experience
5+ years experience with Java development and Web Services (SOAP, JAX-WS)
Must be able to both work independently with minimal supervision and be able to effectively perform installation, maintenance, and/or testing functions under critical deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively. Work with peers, management, and business customers to build positive relationships; maintains constructive working relationships.
Experience with all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle
Hibernate
Java Frameworks (preferably GWT)
WebSphere and/or Tomca
