Cardiac Sonographer/ Echocardiography tech Job Opening in Winston-Salem, North carolina - A new imaging center in Winston Salem is seeking a knowledgeable and professional medical sonographer who is able to independently perform all outpatient cardiac procedures with high quality results. Special skills required of the Ultrasound Tech include professional demeanor, be customer service motivated and be able to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare personnel. The current opening is part time/ PRN with possibility to become full time with benefits in near future.
Responsibilities:
Receives and greets patients, obtains necessary medical history including questions relating to any possibility of reactions
Handles patients in a caring, courteous and professional manner
Prepare and/or instruct patients in self-preparation for various examinations.
Evaluates the patient's ability to tolerate requested exam(s)
Coordinates with reception taking the next available patient at all times
Interacts effectively and professionally with patients, physicians, office staff and coworkers
Maintain the equipment and supplies used in sonography.
Obtain standardized sonographic images of patients.
Maintain procedural competence in imaging.
Recognize and record appropriate anatomy and pathology using sonographic equipment.
Recognize gross abnormalities, which can be dangerous, and notify physician immediately.
Perform bedside examinations when required.
Assume responsibility for accurate data collection for quality assurance procedures.
Operates equipment according to specific/recognized procedures and in conformance with established routines and techniques
Reviews images to ensure acceptable quality and completeness for diagnostic purposes
Responsible for immediately reporting any concerns relating to the equipment operation to the Imaging Manager or designee
Adheres to all safety, infection control and HIPAA policies and procedures
Maintains accreditation and or certifications required by the state and federal government within areas of expertise
Perform related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
Technician must have an Associates degree in Applied Science or be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology School.
Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)/CCI required in cardiac sonography.
Minimum 1 year of experience required.
Must be CPR Certified.
