Accountant Job Opening in Chesapeake, Virginia - The Company is a multi city privately held construction business in a fast growth mode, with an inspired workforce, delivering great products and service.
As the Accountant you are responsible to plan, organize and implement all Company and personnel financial, accounting and reporting activities according to clearly defined policies and procedures and protect Company assets. Some human resources duties will also be involved. You will report to the Controller.
Duties and Responsibilities
Managing accounts payable and receivable;
Other detailed Accounting functions including credit card reconciliations;
Processing all incoming and outgoing employee financial documentation
Assisting with payroll
Assist with Human resources functions.
Processing documents related to installation and service projects and job costing
Occasional Work Performed
Specific projects as required by President and Controller
Qualifications
Personal compatibility with Company culture and values
High level of Proficiency in Word and Excel
Extremely proficient in QuickBooks
Familiar with basic technology
Excellent planning, organizational and multi-tasking skills
Meticulous and detail oriented
Desire to get things right and on time
Good interpersonal skills, particularly in working with a team
Consistently able to meet deadlines
Highest level of integrity and trust to handle confidential materials
Ability to handle multiple projects and adapt to new and changing situations
Attentive to helping control costs
Some advanced training in Accounting
Minimum 5 years accounting experience
Construction accounting experience helpful
