Accounting Specialist Job Opening in Charlotte, Michigan - The Accounting Specialist will provide accounting support to major financial accounting areas, including the accounts payable, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation.
Responsibilities:
Provide timely and accurate payment processing by processing accounts payable checks semi-weekly.
Input credit and debits to the accounting system in support of the payables work.
Develop and maintain reports and files on Accounts Payable processing.
Input general ledger entries for account changes.
Handling of petty cash, including weekly balancing of receipts to cash box.
Develop and maintain reports and files on asset and liability account balances.
Complete bank account reconciliations.
Complete reconciliations from general ledger to individual grant funding.
Properly allocate expenses to appropriate grant
Develop and maintain regular reports.
Assist with handling donations
Qualifications:
2-3 years of accounting experience, Associate degree in accounting preferred
Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies and procedures
Proven, solid Excel skills and knowledge of QuickBooks
