Physician Assistant Job Opening in Ogden, Utah - Description:
The Physician Assistant (PA-C) will provide diagnostic, therapeutic, non-invasive surgical procedures and preventive health care services under the supervision of an Interventional Radiologist. Join a team of Physicians and Physician Assistants, dedicated to a multidisciplinary approach. The physician assistant is responsible for performing initial clinical evaluation, including history and physical of all patients to include inpatients, arriving transfers and emergency patients. Daily evaluations and rounding of post-operative patients, determining and ordering appropriate studies and therapeutic regimens in conjunction with the attending provider. Responsibilities:
Examine patients to obtain information about their physical condition
Order and interpret diagnostic test results for deviations from normal
Obtain, compile and record patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination in the EMR system
Complete required documentation and written follow up
Make diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients
Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval
Administer or order diagnostic testing
Obtain informed consents, rounding on inpatients and performing a variety of procedures.
Instruct and counsel patients
Provide physicians with assistance during surgery or complicated medical procedures
Provide timely responses to patient inquiries
Completes assigned training and education
Qualifications:
PA experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting
One or more years experience using electronic medical records (EMR)
Demonstrated strong positive interpersonal skills with patients and staff
Postgraduate surgical residency preferred

Education & Experience Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited PA program
Current Physician Assistant license or ability to obtain licensure in the State of Utah
Current ACLS
Current DEA license
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively on the phone, in writing and via email
Ability to exercise discretion on sensitive and confidential matters
Excellent interpersonal, communication and decision making skills
Demonstrated computer skills
Ability to take call as needed
