Our client is seeking an innovative Cloud Analytics Developer (Java Developer) to join their team. Are you a well-rounded person that can learn technology on the fly and enjoys working in an agile team environment? This work is exciting and fast paced pushing the technology envelope.
This is an analytic modernization activity supporting the U.S. Intelligence Community focused on the geospatial mission domain. The work environment is very positive and collegial and co-located with our client's customer. You will be supported off-site by a strong team of data scientists and full stack engineers that are familiar with the goals of the project to call upon as needed. In addition, you will be working closely with other teammates on-site along with scientists and engineers from other companies. You will have the opportunity to work with and leverage cloud-based technologies and explore opportunities to innovate, especially as the project meets milestones and evolves. This position will support work for the customer in Springfield, VA with occasional travel to the corporate office in McLean, VA.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be clearable; prefer an active DoD TS/SCI or higher for immediate start;
Bachelor's required; Masters or higher degree preferred;
Minimum 9 years relevant experience w/o Masters or minimum 7 years relevant experience w/ Masters;
Must be a skilled Java developer;
Must be conversant with software architecture principles and design patterns, able to think on your feet and solve problems quickly;
Some front-end development experience with the ability to create basic user interfaces such as (javascript and/or angular);
Experience with AWS a must (C2S a plus);
Experience with Kafka and/or other ETL technologies;
Prior experience as an analyst (data consumer) or in statistics/machine learning;
Desired experience with one or more of the following: Machine learning, natural language processing (NLP) and/or statistics;
Some experience with architecture and developing platforms and/or capabilities that ingest and analyze various network and other data types;
Some experience with one or more software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum, Extreme Programming);
Some experience in the geospatial domain preferred;
Ability to demonstrate familiarity with a number of computer science paradigms is incredibly helpful;
Good communication and self-motivation are essential';
The right candidate is technology and methodology agnostic, but knows when to apply the right tool to the requirement.
