Provide strategic financial support to the business through financial analysis, reporting and driving process improvement initiatives. Analyze daily, weekly and monthly trends of the business and provide insights to business leadership on steps that can be taken to drive improvements in profitability. Lead, coach and mentor the team from a financial literacy perspective and help business leads identify levers that can be pulled to drive improved performance. Develop processes to support the business in terms of the annual operating budget, periodic forecast and monthly review of monthly financial statements and results. Promote a strong system of internal controls and pursue opportunities to drive process improvements to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the back office financial processes.
Primary Responsibilities
Oversees the bookkeeping and payroll functions ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, internal and external monthly financial statements.
Accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and receivables, purchase orders, petty cash, core employee expense reports, cash control, and total company tax compliance.
Analyze monthly financial statements and communicate results to business leadership through periodically presenting reports on organization?s financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
Acts as the main point of contact to external auditors and provides all required information.
Ensure all taxation and legislative requirements are compiled at all time.
Ensure that business cash flow adequately supports company work activities and produces optimal results.
Identify trends and suggest actions to drive improved performance. Analyze historic data to reach relevant and rational business conclusions and accurately communicate findings.
Lead scenario modeling and other analysis efforts for the development and growth of the portfolios of the business. Participate as a key thought leader of the team, influencing decision making, and strategy of the business.
Establish processes to prepare a timely and accurate annual operating plan as well as periodic re-forecasts of the business.
Pursue process improvement opportunities, best practice initiatives and support the development of a strong internal control environment.
Assist the business leadership in sourcing prospects for future income by analyzing financial trends and any gaps in the market or potential opportunities.
Coordinates and works with Accountant regarding financial reporting and tax returns.
Skills Required
Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills for significant interaction with all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical, organizational, and interpretive skills for data analysis.
Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products and QuickBooks, with advanced/expert skills in Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, and forward-thinking environment.
Education and Experience
Bachelor?s degree required, preferably in Finance or Accounting, with at least two years of related experience.
Experience with financial statement analysis, operational accounting and finance.
Experience being accountable for financial projections, then annual budget, and financial metrics.
Experience in process analysis and documentation required.
Experience in the real estate, construction, or development industries preferred.
