This position is located in Orchard Park, NY, a suburb of Buffalo, NY. A requirement for this position is to work at this location.

The Director, Strategic Customer Development Initiatives will be responsible for managing multiple customer projects, the associated project managers, and development resources to successful deliver on large software build requirements and business development initiatives for key customers.

This person focuses on managing strategic projects with hands-on interaction at various reporting levels at the customer. The management scope includes; prioritizing project work streams, identifying and proposing strategies to enable speed of delivery, optimizing resource management, providing project , working closely with key internal business leaders and C-suite project sponsors, to meet customer objectives. The fundamental goal is to assure delivery of maximum value to the customer for the time and resources available, minimizing risk while quickly responding to changing business needs.

Job Skills & Responsibilities:
Engage with strategic customers and work collaboratively on project planning and delivery of custom software and business development initiatives.

Focused development projects may evolve to have broader healthcare industry applicability. Customer interaction can be diverse, and will include international customer team interactions and travel.

Responsible for a multi-million dollar portfolio, managing budgets to achieve objectives with expected ROI

Work with senior customer executives on the initiatives and provide oversight, updates and reporting on status. Recommend changes in content, scope, and resources to meet deliverables and strict timelines.

Identify new business development opportunities for the customer and company

Ensure that development projects are delivered efficiently while adhering to PMO frameworks, governance, compliance requirements, and ensure projects are properly resourced to meet priority alignment and business demand

Responsible for prioritization and resource allocation across all of the initiatives

Ability to move fast and modify plans and provide presentations to meet audience needs and obtain appropriate buy-in (internal and customer)

Able to appropriately identify and escalate risks and issues to senior management for direction and resolution

Oversee/contribute to professional development for participating agile team members.

Identify opportunities to improve customer and team dynamics, interactions and overall collaborative spirit

Skills & Qualifications:
Executive presence

Ability to develop strong, trusted relationships externally with customers and internally with agile teams.

Exceptional communication skills

Advanced general management skills

Experience managing large customer delivery projects in a big 4 consulting firm is desirable

PMP or equivalent certification preferred

Strong ability to prioritize workload, consistently meet deadlines, and take the appropriate level of independent action when necessary

Evidence of successfully managing projects, initiatives through others (Sr. PM?s, PM?s, Associate PM?s, etc.)

Experience with collaborative agile development teams

3+ years with Project Management tools

Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline

8+ years direct people management experience

MBA preferred
