Senior Accountant Job Opening in New York, New york - The vast majority of a company?s value is derived from its future earnings. At F. Schumacher & Co. the Finance Team is an active participant in shaping the strategy of our organization.
In the past year, F. Schumacher & Co. has relocated its Finance Team to the NY office; we are currently in the process of overhauling our ERP system and implementing a new reporting structure.
Now we are looking for a Senior Accountant to contribute to these goals and assist in the timely and accurate reporting of monthly Financial Reports to the Executive Management Team.
To succeed, our Senior Accountant will need to have good organization and communication skills and a desire to continually add company value by improving processes.
YOU WILL :
Make your mark
Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
Run month end inventory closing reports
Reconcile the inventory sub-ledger with the GL, analyze variances and correct
Prepare inventory reserve reports, making recommendations to market certain collections that can make an impact on amounts needed to be reserved
Perform specific account analysis for the following:
Purchase price variance
inventory adjustments
Ship direct
Balance sheet account reconciliations
Bank account reconciliations
Financial Statement analysis ? Provide narrative for the following
Actual vs. Budget
Actual vs. Forecast
Actual vs. Prior Year
Research and resolve open reconciling items
Gather and prepare documentation for annual audits
Run all P&L and Balance Sheet reports monthly from Report Designer
Creating additional or modify financial reports as needed via Report Designer
Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
YOU HAVE/ARE :
Bachelor?s degree and 5+ years of work experience in Finance
Must have Microsoft Access knowledge
Effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills
Ruthless at prioritization and not afraid to make tough decisions with little information
Detail oriented is a must
Thrive in a fast-paced environment
