2Book develops a Saas application that solves real problems for individuals and businesses in the wellness industry (). Our team is about 20 strong, and our paying customer base (3,000) is growing at a rate of 100% per year.
We have an opening for an experienced Director of Engineering. You must enjoy solving problems with other bright, passionate people in a fast paced environment and enjoy the challenge of bringing out the best in others.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Your primary job responsibility will include providing technical leadership, code reviews and guidance to a team of ten developers and testers within the context of our bi-weekly software release cycles. You'll also be working directly with the management team in determining business strategy as it relates to the product roadmap and development priorities. If you enjoy acting as the hub of influence, are a source of positive energy for your team, and can still do some coding and research as well, you'll be very happy in this role.
This position works closely with our local and offshore development teams, the product manager and the project manager.

Has experience managing productive and collaborative development teams
A high enough level of technical understanding to be able to speak easily with developers and have a clear understanding of what engineering challenges they?re working through
Are able to grasp business logic quickly and can think through ways to solve problems in a multi-faceted manner. (i.e. - This change will impact three other things that we haven't considered yet)
The desire and ability to be involved with the business from a strategic standpoint and to have a direct impact on the business process and growth

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proven track record managing development teams on Saas projects, or experience as part of a highly functioning development team with some leadership experience.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Proven leadership skills
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and flexibility
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
Minimum 5 years managing or working as a team member in Saas software projects
Agile or similar experience
Senior level development experience on a Saas product

What You?ll Do:
You will work at the highest technical advisory level on the most difficult analysis and design assignments.
You will function as a hands-on lead of an Applications Team of 4 to 8 employees and coordinates the work of offshore resources as needed.
You will schedule, assign, direct, review, supervisor and manage the technical team.
You will manage all aspects of the application development lifecycle, including systems analysis, design, development, deployment, maintenance, and enhancements.
You will organize, prioritize, coordinate, and administer the day-to-day activities and workload of the application development team.
You will provide project oversight and administration to ensure that the development and delivery of information systems solutions meets or exceeds the expected business requirements, and that work is completed and delivered on time and within budget.
You will perform general management functions including performance reviews, mentoring, hiring, and training of the assigned team members.
You will be considered the Senior Technical subject matter expert.
You will ensure that all provided technology services and solutions meet business needs for reliability, performance, and security.
You will support, troubleshoot, and maintain development and production systems to optimize performance, resolve problems, and provide timely follow-up on identified issues.
You will monitor and report on the status and progress of project efforts, be anticipating and identifying issues that could inhibit achieving the project goals and objectives, and be implementing corrective actions and mitigation strategies.

Salary: $95,000.00 to $120,000.00 /year
